Last week I had the pleasure of performing at the Five Senses Benefit at FIVE BAR in Mount Lawley. The event was to raise funds for CORD and awareness of Spinal Cord Injury in Western Australia. The evening brought together Perth creatives and small businesses, creating a sensory experience for the 60 VIP guests.
Guests were treated to an eight-course degustation dining experience by FIVE BAR’s extraordinary chef, sommelier and mixologist. Each course was matched with fine wine from Stormflower Winery, a Mariposa Perfumery’s fragrance and a change in ambience through music, lighting and assorted entertainment.
In-between each course Serbian pianist, Mladen Petrovic and myself performed music which evoked the mood of the course. Songs included jazz classics Embraceable you and classical pieces such as Ave Maria (Caccini) and O Mio Babbino Caro (Puccini).
We also accompanied a fashion parade modelled by Chadwick models parading clothes from Perth designers; Lulu & I, One Fell Swoop, Empire Rose, Infamous friends, and Zomp.
Congratulations to Marco Octaviano for co-ordinating this fabulous event. It was wonderful to be a part of.
